Hello, Moin! I am a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student in the Department of Philosophy at Western University in Ontario, Canada. I hold a Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy from San Francisco State University, where I also taught for two years.
My areas of research include: moral and social philosophy, environmental philosophy, and the ethics of artificial intelligence.
Outside of academia, I have partnered with conservation organizations on climate and environmental justice issues. Most recently, I joined the Environmental Fellows Program at the Yale School of the Environment for a second term. I have worked on projects exploring the merits and applications of technologies ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) and geographic information systems (GIS) to carbon capture technologies, including direct air capture (DAC). Beyond technological fixes alone, I argue that cultivating virtues such as curiosity, empathy, and respect for one another and the natural world is vital in an age of climate precarity.
